Palliative care provides patients comfort by treating the symptoms of a disease. Because of significant advancements in veterinary medicine, the ability to manage pain and the side effects of disease has greatly improved. Thus, we are able to offer greater comfort and dignity to pets at the end of their lives. We also empower pet-parents to provide the best possible quality of life during the  time their pet has remaining. Our goal is not to add years to a life but life to the years remaining.

The Animal Hospice/ Palliative Care Veterinarian:

  • Provides relief from pain and other symptoms such as nausea, depression, dementia
  • Coordinates care with other providers including your regular veterinarian
  • Guides the animal’s pet-parents in formulating and implementing an in-home care plan.
  • Assists caregivers in making difficult decisions.
  • Provides caregivers emotional and spiritual support
